What can I say for Mike Judge? Other than it's sad to say that this movie was as unimpressive as Idiocracy. Except you replace stupid with boring. As I tried to stay awake just to watch it drag on and on, I feared I was never going to get to laugh. I barely got a chuckle out of this movie. It wasn't the story, the story was really good. But I couldn't help thinking I've seen the movie somewhere else before, maybe perhaps it's because I have? Oh yes, I have, Office Space. Every idiotic and witty characters were as if they were the brothers and sisters of everyone in Office Space. Just replace Ron Livingston with Jason Bateman, Diedrich Bader with Ben Affleck, and Jennifer Aniston with Kristen Wiig, and you have yourself an Office Space 2. For hardcore Mike Judge fans, you may enjoy. But I was expecting something a bit more. Sure it's witty and intelligent, but that doesn't make up for lack of character depth. It's as if every character was made up in an instant. I got so lost trying to figure out why some were even necessary. Such as Mila Kunis's character Cindy. Sure, she plays a significant role for the overall plot to take place, she's the chain reaction that sets everything afoot, but I could have done without watching everything revolve around her when it did. She reminds me of Sam Worthington in Terminator Salvation, almost as if Mike Judge and McG were in cahoots with each other. If you're a fan of Mike Judge, watch it. But if you're going to watch this to laugh, you will be sadly disappointed.
