Top 5 Summer Movies I hope won't let me down

Introduction:

In a big summer for Hollywood, much hype has been extended on the media's part in trying to get people back into the theaters.  For the most part I've tried to avoid the onslaught of hype and pick the movies that I want to see, rather than having the studios tell me what I want to see.  These are the top five movies that I'm hyping up all on my own, and they better live up to my expectations...

#5:

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen

I really am starting to think that I am the only one that can go to a Michael Bay film and just enjoy it...for it.  Think of his movies as their own separate entity that can't be judged up against other movies.  Sit back and relax and just enjoy it for what the movie is supposed to do.  Unless of course...it really does suck!

#4:

The Taking of Pelham 123

I feel that any Tony Scott movie can be hit or miss, but I always seem to enjoy the premises of the movies he chooses to direct, and this is no exception.  Plus Denzel is in it.

#3:

Inglourious Basterds

You can usually count on Quentin Tarantino for two things: violence and great dialogue.  You can't help but think that this one will have both.

#2:

Terminator Salvation

As a storyline dating back to my childhood; we are finally treated to the future and how it all goes down.  This movie will break my heart above all other if it were to totally suck.

#1:

District 9

I am a sucker for viral marketing campaigns and this one is starting off in great shape.  It helps the great Peter Jackson is involved, but regardless the helicopter flying towards the ship just inspires the old Independence Day feel inside of me.  Which...is a good thing.

0 for 2 this week

I guarantee you'll be 0 for 2 after you see Transformers 2 this week. Robots with testicles? Come on Michael Bay, are you serious?

The Taking of Pelham 123 was decent but certainly not the blockbuster movie of the summer. But I'll give that one to you, 1 for 3.

The Taking...

The Taking of Pelham was good but def not oscar-worthy. No worries, i doubt Transformers, Inglourious Basterds, and District 9 will be bad. The directors aren't shit directors.

Well your list is 0 for 1!

Well your list is 0 for 1! Shame on all involved in Terminator...

District 9

looks interesting. I wasn't aware of it until I saw the trailer before the s#!t sandwich that was Wolverine. I am hesitant for Terminator:Salvation. In proportion to May's other films I fear it will be way more Wolverine than Star Trek.
