Top 10 Reasons Everyone should buy Borderlands

Introduction:

We here at RawCritics have been looking forward to this game for a long, long time.  The promises that were made with this game were definitely something that both RPG and FPS fans could get excited for.  Below are my Top Ten reasons that everyone should go out and buy this game.

Borderlands

10)

In a game for loot lovers; after beating the game, a second play through becomes available which includes different and more powerful loot.

9)

I can slap my friends, beat them up and then take their loot.

8)

I went up two levels from handing in one mission.

7)

Having the damage numbers pop out of baddies and fall down to the ground, based on your gun's rate of fire, is a ridiculously satisfying game mechanic.

6)

Players can switch positions in vehicles while moving.

5)

I sniped a guy’s head with a flame modded weapon and his body exploded everywhere in fiery chunks.

4)

Final estimated count: 17,750,000 weapons in Borderlands.  Over 1 million of them have separate visual appearances.

3)

My friend, who has lost all faith in video games and is the most skeptical reviewer I know...loves it.

2)

Downloadable content - The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is the first installment of downloadable content planned for Borderlands. The content will include new quests, items, and enemies, and will be made available sometime before the end of 2009. The storyline takes place in an area known as Jakobs Cove. Dr. Ned had been in charge of keeping the workers of Jakobs Cove alive, but ended up transforming them into abominations. The player will assist Dr. Ned in trying to cure the victims of his work.

Instant Messenger conversation with my girlfriend:

Girlfriend: So you wanna come to my place tonight?  Might be worth your while!

Me: Ohh man, what a tease!  Sorry, but I can't...made plans with the guys.
